MANDATE OF OMBUDSMAN and FOLLOW UP of the
RECOMMENDATIONS

PRESENTER- Good morning. I hope this new day brings us health, happiness,
peace and cheer.

We hope that this session will be as fruitful as the previous ones.
Honorable Chief Ombudsman of Turkey,

Esteemed Guests,
Today is the second day of the 3 International Symposium of Ombudsman

Institutions and will host the last session. The session is about “Mandate
of Ombudsman and Follow up of the Recommendations”.

To chair the session, I would like invite Professor Nikiforos
Diamandouros, who worked as the Ombudsman of Europe between
2003 and 2013 and also as a faculty. 3 rd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTIONS
Other speakers are Valeriya Lutkovska, Ombudsman of Ukrain, Peter
Tyndall, Ombudsman of Ireland, Justice Naser Seraj, Ombudsman
of Iran and Professor Sayın Aydın Gülan, Department Chair of
Administrative Law at Law School in İstanbul University.
Before starting the session, I would like to thank the chair and the
speakers in advance and now, floor goes to the chair.

PROF. NIKIFOROS DIAMANDOUROS (Chair /Ombudsman of Europe 2003-2013)
Thank you very much. Good morning everybody. I am delighted to
be joining this symposium for the third year and I am very grateful
to Chief Ombudsman to Ömeroğlu for having extended an invitation
to me to come again and I was delighted to accept it. My task is to
chair this session which has the title of the Scope of the Ombudsman’s
authority and follow up of the recommendations.
