Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to greet you all with deep respect and wish a fruitful event
on the occasion of the 3 International Symposium of Ombudsman

Institutions.
In your presence, I would like to thank Turkish Ombudsman and
his coworkers for organizing such an important event every year on
regular basis.

In advance, I also would like to thank esteemed speakers from Turkey
and different countries for their valuable supports.

As you do know, it has been 3 years now since the initiation of
ombudsman system. I personally deem every step made in reviewing,
developing and strengthening of the efforts by this organization that is
a new and important bridge between the citizens and the government.
The number of applications received 2013 onwards is of significance:
17321.

The compliance of the public administration with the recommendations
of the Ombudsman Institution of Turkey proved to be remarkable like
38%.
It is clear that there is a long way to register in view of the number of
complaints and compliance with the recommendations.
We expect Turkish Ombudsman Instruction to serve as a point of
solution for the citizens.
The first venue that will find a solution to the unfairness or a challenge
that a citizen believes to be exposed and is coming to their mind
must be this institution. And related public organizations must come
to the highest level in implementation of the recommendations by
Ombudsman on the grounds of fairness and rule of law principles as
lucidly mentioned. Only then will the instruction will serve its purpose
of establishment.
Our state and governance tradition is built upon Sheik Edebali “enable
people to live so that the state can prevail” that sets an example to the
world.
