the daily challenges experienced by their own public cannot turn their
back to the millions of people who try to survive only and they should
not do so. Otherwise, it means that the Western countries betray the
founding pillars of the European Union.
We will continue to open our arms to welcome anyone coming to our
borders irrespective of their ethnicity, beliefs, creeds or qualities even
though this will push our capabilities. We are not doing this for fear
of an interest. We do this as a due to pay to humanity and for moral,
historic and conscientious duties. We will remain to do so.

On this occasion, let me reiterate that I do strongly condemn the
disrespect shown by Israel against the first kiblah of the Muslims, the
sacred place Mescid-i Aksa and the vandalism it demonstrated. Such
attacks engaged not only in Jerusalem but also in different places
against believers of various religions bear the potential to pave the
way to the outcomes that damage peace and tolerance.
I invite all countries that support and encourage the Israeli State with
their attitude to act responsibly before history. As Turkey, we will
continue to closely follow up the issue, raise it at any platform and
adopt the required position. I keep calling the world leaders who have
sensitivity about these matters and conduct phone diplomacy to invite
them to make joint steps. 3 rd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTIONS
                  Esteemed Guests,
Turkey has always closely felt the bloody and warm breath of
terrorism all along its history. We lost thousands of martyrs and tens
of thousands of people, in our history of counter-terrorism. Today, we
encounter with a new wave of terrorism and sad losses caused by that.
Since 2003, one of our major goals has been to eliminate the reasons
paving the way to terrorism, while deploying efforts for democracy
                  and development.

Rather than bothering to fight against the mosquitoes, our principle
has been to dry out the marshes. Therefore, we engaged in massive
reforms, in view of development and democratization. In this sense,
Turkey registered significant progress on the way to normalization. Its
efforts that started with democratic opening have been sustained with
                  national unity and fraternity.
