more normal such as dismissal of an employee for a financial reasons.
               Now, if someone is dismissed because she is pregnant, whatever has to
               do with the maternity, protection, etc. And the employer pretends that
               it is from financial reasons and he has to prove that it is for financial
               reasons. It is not the dismissed person which will have to find out what
               happens in the books of this business. So there it is much easier to use
               this tool. In cases of harassment because of the nature of the problem
               it touches upon the private sphere and a lot within the private sphere
               remain private, remain far from light, there it is more difficult. In any
               case the existence of such a technique does not mean that it is used in
               a way that does not allow each party to defend themselves. Thank you.

               With your permission, I would like to make a few quick additions about
               the CEDAW.

               Majority  of  Turkish  people  are  Muslim  but  the  Republic  of  Turkey  is  a
               secular country. I believe that a secular state does not have a religion and
               it is in a position to treat them equally irrespective of their religious creeds
               or background. By being a party to the CEDAW, we are not in breach of
               Muslim creeds and by the way, Turkey has the liberty to place a reservation
               on certain articles.
               For  instance,  the  CEDAW  says  that  “amend  your  constitution  regarding
               equality”. Then, we included positive discrimination in Turkish constitution.
               As you do know, it means provision of opportunities and privileges to the
               unequal part until they come to the equal position.

               So, what have we done? The Government started to pay a certain fee to
               the fathers who do not send their daughters to the school so that they can.

               Again,  let  me  quote  an  example  from  the  CEDAW:  “ban  on  use  of
               illustrations or photos in textbooks as of the elementary schools that will
               raise discrimination or create discrimination in brain.

               I remember in small bubbles what a mother or father does was written
               or they were illustrated working a job or doing house chores. A father sits
               in a couch, reads a paper next to a lamp while a mother does ironing
               or cooking in the kitchen. They seemed normal to us but now, since they
               trigger discrimination in kids’ brain, the CEDAW asks for the elimination of
