administrative procedures and access to public services and monitoring
the execution of court decisions against the administration.
Another addition which is no less noteworthy to the ombudsman
should be mentioned here. The possibility of operating on side rather
than simply wait indefinitely to receive the answers to its letters of
explanation addressed to the administrations. So it can conduct
increase and investigations on the ground and request any necessary
documents without waiting to receive them at the discretion of the
concerned officials. It is also possible for the ombudsman based on
special situations to address to the head of government proposals
to develop legislation to draft amendments to be presented to the
parliament. The ombudsman is also responsible for submitting to the
King a detailed annual report on its activities and the achievements
made. This report is published in the official gazette and a summary of
their office presented to parliament in plenary session.

In the area of cooperation and partnership we have concluded a
number of bilateral agreements with counterpart institutions for the
purpose of establishing mutual assistance to our nationals living abroad
and those of friend countries residing among us. We managed to
extend this cooperation at the regional level in the form of an informal
statement of good intend within the association of Mediterranean
ombudsman. We are currently working to have it internationally 3 rd INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON OMBUDSMAN INSTITUTIONS
adopted. Our active international cooperation has allowed us to
play a very active role in the creation of this associated group in the
Mediterranean basin. We now undertake the honorary presidency of
the association after having actually assumed it for three successive
terms. In this framework, we developed a comparative study that was
highly appreciated by our colleagues our intervention and our best
practice in the search of realistic and acceptable solutions.

I hope I have given diagonally an overview of our institution and think
I have fairly provided about its organization and role. If you allow
me I would like to present you a very short third part. It is about the
experience. Here I am sharing my views and the experience of the
